Nike is launching a retail installation in their east London store called 1948. A retail installation is a combination of art and functionality in a retail environment. The Wilson Brothers of the UK did an interesting job of using modular bleacher-inspired fixtures to display the running shoes. The modular displays can be rearranged in any number of ways within the space. Click here to see a time-lapsed video showing various configurations of the display space.
The design team pulled in the community by referencing a running club that meets in the store. The floor graphics show a 5k, 8k and 10k running route. Design Boom posted additional photos of the space. It’s a real nod to the future of retail design — creating a destination experience targeted to a very specific shopper.
